About me
I am married to a wonderful German girl whom I met when I was stationed in West Germany in the Army. We will celebrate 37 years of marriage. We have three children and three grandchildren. This is going to be my fifth year of teaching. However, prior to this I served in the United States Army for 24 years. I have been in 27 countries, I am familiar with four languages. I spent four years fighting in Afghanistan against the Taliban. I have taught all five branches of the U.S. military, to include militaries from 44 countries. I worked for NATO teaching military forces in Poland, preparing them for combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. During my last tour of duty in Afghanistan, myself and both of my sons were in-country simultaneously in various locations.
I love my God, my country, my family, and my freedoms, and no one will take those away.
I believe every student learns in different ways. I have already experienced this in my short time of teaching middle school students. I love the challenges brought on from my students when it comes to their particular styles of learning. Most of the time behavior is not an issue in my classroom. I usually do not send students to the office. If we have a behavior problem, we resolve it privately, then we get back to work. I don't believe in passing my responsibilities to the higher levels. They have their own problems to contend with. Besides, if I have to do that, then what good am I to my peers and supervisors.
I am looking forward to implementing personalized learning to my students, and learning best practices alongside them as one big happy family. I'm excited!
